Highly graphic store window poster promoting this classic adventure radio show. Renfrew of the Royal Mounted was a popular series of boy's adventure books that later appears on radio, film and television. "The Sunken City of the Arctic" was a radio serial with 85 chapters that aired October 5, 1936 to January 29, 1937. NOTE: This series was broadcast five times a week in 15-minute installments. Great design, featuring arctic explosions, polar wind sleds, and a nice portrait of Sgt. Renfrew. The program was sponsored by the Continental Baking Company (selling "Slo-Baked Wonder Bread" noted at poster top area). Outstanding imagery with great eye appeal. Condition is considered FAIR with miscellaneous surface/stain/edge wear. Moderate surface/edge creasing with glue residue on poster back (some stain seepage apparent on poster front). Three surface tears reinforced neatly at top with clear tape (on OND of WONDER). Scattered minor areas of tape edge residue. Two horizontal folds with scattered small edge tears (largest being approx. 1/8"). Colors & graphics are still bold, bright and very attractive. NOTE: This sign will be shipped rolled. Overall, despite defects, we feel this scarce item is still in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos).
