The Allen Bradley / Rockwell automation, 1771-OJC is a pulse output expander module that is compatible with the PLC-5 system. The 1771-OJC is used in a stepper module positioning assembly (1771-QA) where it provides for a programmable way to control the stepper motor. The module allows the extension of the axis in the Input Output chassis from one to a maximum of three axis. The operating voltage range for the 1771-OJC module is 0.8 to 1.0 Volts DC and it exerts a current load of 800 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC on the backplane. the E-Stop and JUG input modes for the module have an input signal delay of 250 milliseconds and 120 milliseconds (1 to 3 axis) respectively. For the external power source, the 1771-OJC module uses one that is rated 5 to 30 Volts DC with a maximum current rating of 340 milliseconds. The peak to peak ripple rating for the external power source should not exceed that of the stepper translator which is calibrated during manufacture. To interface the module with open collector logic modules, the module has a 1600 Ohms pull resistors which is pre-installed at the factory. The duty cycle pulse for the 1771-OJC is 50 percent and a maximum signal rise that lasts for 0.6 microseconds at a current of 100 milliamperes. For maximum performance of the 1771-OJC module, it should be operated within temperatures not exceeding 60 degrees Celsius and not less than 0 degrees Celsius, and a non-condensing temperature of 5 to 95 percent.
