Description: Up for sale is this rare antique 1902 copy of the 6th volume of, "Selected Relics of Japanese Art." The book is overall in very good condition with just some minor signs of wear and age. It is one volume only out of a multi-volume set. The book comes with it's original toggle tied linen case which is lined with gold flecked paper. The case has some light foxing to the cloth and some mild signs of wear and age. It is folio sized, measuring approximately 19 inches by 13 3/4 inches. The book is a softcover Japanese style binding which reads back to front. The lovely decorative paper wrappers only have the slightest bit of wear. The binding is good and sound. The top and bottom page edges are gold gilt. An old Japanese receipt is tucked between the pages. The interior is generally nice and clean with just some occasional light foxing. Along with that, there may be the very occasional page with a light spot of grubbiness, tiny tear, or some kind of other very minor imperfection. Generally though, it's a beautiful copy. The book is illustrated with 5 color plates and several other black and white plates. The illustrations are accompanied by descriptive text in both English and Japanese. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
