Description: Antique White and Green with Yellow Rose Floral Gone with the Wind Hurricane Lamp Shade.Upper shade or diffuser for antique oil or kerosene lamp. Often referred to as the Gone with the Wind (GWTW) style lamp. The last photo shows the style of lamp that this shade would go on (this is not the actual lamp, just an example).Fits a 6 3/4" fitter. The shade is mostly white with light green tinting at the neck and base. It has a typical ruffled and flared top opening. Lovely yellow or golden rose designs on two sides. The rose design is a transfer decal, not hand painted. Transfer decals were used from the mid 1800s to the 1950s. Mostly from about 1900 to 1950 in the US. The shade was sandblasted to create a frosted appearance on the outside, then the decal image and green tinting were applied, then the shade was fired to permanently affix the decal and paint to the glass. It is unknown exactly when this shade was made or by whom. The shade measures about 8" tall, 9 3/4" wide at the widest point, and the top opening is about 6" in diameter. The shade is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There are a few marks, light scratches and signs of use commensurate with the age of the shade.
