Description: Custom Lighted Tyco Black Trans-Am Body on a Reconditioned Tyco US1 Chassis Track tested and runs strong and fast! Body is in excellent condition. The bird and all of the gold paint is in excellent condition! I took a Tyco Trans Am slot car body, modified it and put it on a US1 chassis. The factory headlight insert has been modified to fit onto a US1 chassis. A new light bulb was installed. The windshield was taped in when I bought the TA, so I got rid of the tape and modified the supports to better hold in the windshield. This car has been meticulously cleaned (hair, lint removed, body washed in mild detergent) and oiled. This is somewhat of a Frankenstein US1 chassis. I started with a bare chassis pan and added all of the components needed, from other (mostly) US1 chassis. I had to replace the motor cover, so I took the opportunity to clean all of the components in the motor, brushes, springs, etc., as long as I had it apart. New rear Silicone US1 tires have been put on. I added HP7 wheels to the front of the chassis, since the wheels were missing. Those wheels got new HP7 silicone tires put on. So there are four new tires on this car. Wheels were painted with gold lacquer then clear coated for protection. New pick up shoes were installed. New, handmade pick up shoe plates were installed. New pick up shoe plate screws were installed. The cracked white gear was replaced with a 3D printed gear. 2 new guide pins. All components cleaned up nicely to make a great looking and running Trans Am! All in all it is basically like new! Shiny! Fun custom update from the original US1 Trans Am! I've been rebuilding US1 vehicles for quite a while now so I have some experience as to what is good and what is not. I specialize in converting interesting TYCO slot car bodies (originally on HP7, 440X2, HP2, Curvehugger) to fit TYCO US1 chassis. I like to use vehicles that are from the era of the US1 sets.
