Description: Highly desirable original first US edition first printing of this rare sexual autobiography attributed to (and never denied by) JEAN COCTEAU, famed gay french writer, artist, film-maker, dramatist -- one of the giants of the 20th century. With erotic drawings by Cocteau (different from the ones in the UK edition released 11 years later), this remarkable book is a frank exploration of a sensitive young man's awakening to his homosexuality. Black cloth hardcover, white lettering, original un-clipped dustjacket is slightly rubbed, and creased (see pictures). Book looks unread, octavo roughly 5x7 inches, published in 1958 by Macauley of New York. Overall looks very good. Only writing is a penciled price that could probably be erased. Hard to find this rare title in the USA nowadays to say the least, price is well below market value, an absolute must for any serious collection of important books by or about the amazing Jean Cocteau. "As shown" condition, light wear and signs of aging, much sharper image than what you can see here.
