Entire length of the valance is 12" long. More than one may be needed, one valance should fit up to a 50" window All of my quality valances feature premium white cotton on the reverse. This ensures no fading to the fabric over time, a fuller finished look when installed onto the drapery rod and also helps to block out the sunlight more versus a non lined valance.
