Description: This lot consists of what I believe to be Three (3) previously uncatalogued Variants of THE NEW-ENGLAND ALMANACK AND FARMERS' FRIEND, FOR THE YEAR OF OUR LORD CHRIST, 1833...Fitted to the Meridian of New-London...Containing Besides the Astronomical Calculations a Variety of Matter, USEFUL AND ENTERTAINING. The Astronomical Calculations Performed by Nathan Daboll, and Printed and Sold by Samuel Green in New-London (Connecticut), [1832]. This is where the similarities end, the following being the variations that make each issue different from the other:1) 16 Leaves (Drake 1025 calls for 14 leaves). All but one monthly page of the calendar being dated "1833" in the upper right corner except for the page for August which is dated "1838" (or, it's the broken type for a "3" which makes it look like an 8). Margins are roughly trimmed and wrappers and contents are moderately spotted and soiled.2) 8 Leaves out of 14. Includes the title leaf and all 12 months of the year, but lacking the "Useful & Entertaining". January Calendar leaf dated 1832 in upper right and October has no date in the upper right. There is light to moderate soiling to the almanac, more so to the wrappers, the rear one having old ink notations on it. The margins are untrimmed resulting in tears and chips to the blank margins of the protruding leaves. 3) 15 out of 16 leaves, lacking the front wrapper/title leaf. January calendar page dated 1838 or 1833 with second "3" broken, same or the August page and the October page in which both 3's are breaking up. Besides missing the 1st leaf, there is a 1" x 1.5" "bite out of the lower left area of all but the last 5 leaves, with resultant loss of text, and the paper itself is stained and mildewed.
