Description: Olds Special Trombone L.A. 1947 - Reconditioned & Brushed - Case Olds 3 MP Serial# 26*** Here is a nice Special trombone, finished in brushed raw brass, treated with Renaissance wax to protect the natural raw brass finish. There were a few dents and dings throughout so some deeper marks and dent repairs are visible, tuning slide is smooth showing no stocking wear, this is a low miles horn in very good condition. Case is clean but for protection only, one hinge is bad, otherwise a usable case and horn comes with an Olds 3 mouthpiece. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. (This is a $150 service for complete reconditioning at the shop) Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbedBody, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT) Honed, Polished then Hand-lapped finished valves and chambers (This process can take more than an hour) Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as neededPlay tested and final inspected before listing for sale ***Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case.
