Description: This Original illustration measures 5 1/2 in. X 9 3/8 in. and is in very good vintage condition. It is not dated though I believe this is from the 1950s. The artist, Valerie (Ole) Swenson, signed the piece at bottom with her pen name, Ole. Valerie (Ole) Swenson was an American Postwar & Contemporary artist born in 1907.She wrote and illustrated many books about nature and also created many fine paintings and prints - woodblocks and silkscreens. Swenson, while born in Kansas City, MO, she worked in the Hudson Valley and lived in Shandhaken NY. Following her death I was able purchase a large assortment of her artwork.
