Description: Up for sale are (4) reproduction A.C. Gilbert Erector set part no. ‘OB’ tread pins. These were used to connect the ends of part no. ‘NW’ treads to form a loop. The ‘OB’ and ‘NW’ parts were exclusive to the 1948-50, and 1956-1962 No. 12 ½ sets. The photos show two styles of original ‘OB’ pins: Plain steel and copper-plated. They also came in two lengths; 1” and 0.8” long. The photos show both lengths of pins inserted into the clips of an ‘NW’ tread. Note that the 1” length extends beyond the ends of the NW’s clips while the 0.8” length is flush with the ends of the clips. The buyer will receive FOUR (4) ‘OB’ pins; (2) pins 1” long and (2) pins 0.8” long. Don’t miss your chance to pick up some of these often-lost parts! NOTE: The photos show an NW tread with an ‘OB’ installed, several original ‘OB’ pins, tread pins on a scale, and several manual pages. All of the “extra fluff’ is for reference only and is not included in this sale. The buyer will receive (4) tread pins, (2) that are 1” long, and (2) that are 0.8” long. Don’t hesitate to ask questions through eBay’s messaging service. Shipping via USPS first class mail in an envelope with a forever stamp. If you are interested in learning more about Gilbert Erector sets, Google ACGHS for the home page of the A. C. Gilbert Heritage Society. Included in the photos is a sample page of an Erector parts guide I wrote about 10 years ago; it details the variations of all of the parts used between 1933 – 1962 and is available as a free download from the ACGHS website. Another trivial fact; the ACGHS past president and webmaster is one of A. C. Gilbert’s grandsons!
