Description: The Moor's Last Sigh tells the family history of Moraes Zogoiby, known as 'the Moor'. He is the last survivor of a family descended from the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama (ca. 1469-1524), who sailed to India in search of spice and whose offspring grew rich in shipping it to the West. It is set in the Indian cities of Cochin and Bombay and is the fifth novel by the British novelist Salman Rushdie. In 2019, the BBC added it to its list of 100 Most Influential Novels. It was published in 1995, simultaneously in the UK, the US and Canada, although all of the books were printed in the UK. This is a stated First Canadian Edition. The book has not been read, or even opened. But, just from being moved around, there are two brown marks on the outside edge of the paper (not inside). The dust jacket (unclipped) has bits of wear and yellowing at the edges.Otherwise perfect.
