Description: This wonderful vintage painting shows a gathering for market day. It looks to be one of the Caribbean islands - possibly Cuba? or Haiti?. I can see the canvas texture through the paint - so it looks to be done on canvas with a backing possibly of cardboard? The painting measures 10.5" x 25.5". With frame, the painting measures 14" x 29". It is signed by the artist Shikard in the lower right. There is a ripple in the canvas at both the right and left edge of the painting which looks to have been done to accommodate the frame. And, there is a nick in wood of the frame at the top left corner as well as some very small scattered nicks. Overall, this painting is in good vintage condition.
