The book is 8 ½” x 10 ½” tall and 158 pages. There are 29 wonderful wood engravings by Henry Varnum Poor. The artist was able to capture the spirit of man and dog in the harsh climate of the north. Laid in the front is a copy of The Heritage Club Sandglass is Number VII: 25. This is a wonderful story that adults and older children will enjoy. Every time I read the last paragraph a tear comes to my eye. I think of absent dog friends. “But he is not always alone.
