Description: Per Wikipedia, The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads is a double live album by the American new wave band, Talking Heads, released in 1982 by Sire Records. The first LP features the original quartet in concert and radio recordings in 1977 and 1979, and the second LP features the expanded ten-piece lineup that toured in 1980 and 1981. Though a decent commercial and critical success upon release, The Name of This Band was somewhat overshadowed by Talking Heads' subsequent live album and concert film, “Stop Making Sense”. However, it went on to attract greater retrospective acclaim, with critics remarking on its importance in documenting the band's artistic growth. The album up for bid is a 1982 release by Sire Records. It consists of 17 tracks on two LP’s with a total run time of 81+ minutes. The recording was marketed by Sire Records and was manufactured at Capitol Records Los Angeles pressing facility. The cover is in VG condition with only mild wear along the corners. There is a mild crease in the upper left corner of the front cover, but there are no tears or split seams. There are two labels on the back cover, one indicating it is a specially priced two-record set and the other, a request for promotional purposes (see photos). The photos and graphics show no sign of discoloration. The heavy paper inner sleeves are original and in VG+ condition. Both sleeves contain multiple photographs of the band and include production information and track listings. The recordings have been cleaned, tested and recorded using Audacity. All tracks are free of skips and there is no background noise. The sound is clean and strong. All disc surfaces are free of any significant wear and there are no scratches or scuffs. Disc surfaces are glossy and all labels are clean and intact. This double album was recorded live and is on par with the group’s later live album Stop Making Sense. This recording is every bit as good as the latter recording and measures up to VG+/EX on the Goldmine standard for recordings.I always clean, listen and test every record I list on EBAY.
