Description: Offered for sale is a used, Vintage 1994 Ertl 1:6th Scale John Deere Model E Engine. It is a Battery-Operated toy, Part Number 4969-1HDO. This vintage JD engine is used and has been displayed, but the sound and action does not work. Please look carefully at the pictures for additional details concerning condition. I sell all items as is. It is attachable to the sheller and pumpjack toys. John Deere shipped the first enclosed self-oiling engine in June 1921, a 1-½hp Model E (1.5E). That was followed in April 1922 with the famous embossed 3hp 3E. In chronology, it is interesting to note how many changes were made to these engines from 1921 to 1924, and how few changes were made from 1925 until the end of production in 1946. Additional information about this toy can be found on page 191 of the 2024 Farm Toy Price Guide published by the National Farm Toy Museum. This is a very nice older, 30 years old, diecast metal replica that would make a great gift or awesome addition to any collection/display. Thanks for looking.
