Vintage First Black Barbie Doll African American 1979 Mattel #1293

Description: This rare vintage Black Barbie from Mattel, No. 1293, is a must-have for serious collectors. The first black Barbie, this 11-inch doll features curly black hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion. She is part of the Barbie Superstar Era dolls and her Steffi face is absolutely gorgeous. She comes with a complete set of accessories, including earrings, a necklace, shoes, hair comb and an outfit (see info on back of box). She has a twisting waist to allow for model posesBarbie is in her original box. It has never been opened and she has Never Been Removed from the box (NRFB). The box shows wear commensurate with age (wear marks, but no obvious tears or dents - please see photos). Remnants of a price tag are on the front plastic (upper left - see photo) and on the top of the box (see photo). Original plastic display window shows some yellowing, and tiny scratches and imperfections are visible on close-up photos.
