Description: Wooden Lock Box, Rustic Primitive Handmade, Bank Banking Bag, Collectible, Document Money Storage, Farmhouse Cottage Cabin Rustic Decor This old wooden box measures 7.75 inches by 7.76 inches from outside to outside. The inside measurements are 6.25 by 6.25 inches. The box is 6.75 inches tall on the outside and 5.75 inches deep. It is certainly not perfect. At one point there was some kind of a top on hinges that was lockable. The top is missing as is one of the hinges. I do not know the age of this box but I would describe it as primitive and rustic. I do not know the kind of wood this box is made from. It seems to be a softer wood, not a hardwood, but I cannot confirm that. The box weighs about 2.25 pounds. The box is nailed and the nails are sunken so I cannot use the nails to help me determine the age of the box. What remains of the hardware on the box appears to be screwed to the box. Inside the box was found a very old cloth bag in very rough condition. The bag is stamped: oTRAVERSE CITY oSTATE BANK oTRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN oSINCE 1856 I do not know if the bag is original to the box or if they were just stored together.
